The 2nd Annual WaGIN Conference – Achieving Change Together

Registration is open for the ACT Conference, the 2nd annual Washington Global Issues Network (WAGIN) Conference.

This year, the conference is going to be held at Ingraham High School on March 11th and 12th, 2016. This conference is designed to empower students to take positive actions by providing knowledge about issues, examples of successful projects, and connections to organizations, schools, and students who want to make positive change. The conference is focused on three levels of action: local/environmental, national/race and equity issues, and global/health and education.

We are inviting groups from inside and outside of Seattle Public Schools who have either already accomplished positive action projects or who are interested in learning how to get started. Students groups are encouraged to present projects they have completed at student run workshops throughout the conference.

Highlights:

  • Amazing keynote speakers including Kwame Rose, Shawn McBrien, and Skyped speech from Rainn Wilson (we’ve also invited the Governor).
  • The opportunity for your students to talk with other students about important issue and figure out how to do something about them.
  • Conference T-shirts, water bottles, and four meals are covered by the low registration fee of $85.00 (and there are scholarships available for students who need assistance)

Teachers who bring five students can attend for free.
