Free Activity Guide for "Sweet Home Alaska"

Author Carole Estby Dagg is offering a discussion and activity guide to her children’s book, Sweet Home Alaska, with curriculum tie-ins to history, geography, science, reading and writing, art, music, and Greek mythology, and the opportunity to set up a free 20-minute Skype visit.

In 1935, one of Roosevelt’s New Deal programs took 202 families off relief and transported them to Palmer, Alaska to become independent farmers. SWEET HOME ALASKA is based on first-person accounts from children who came north with the Palmer Colony project and period photographs.
