The Washington State Historical Society and the Washington State Archives present History Day: The Common Core Connection

Learn about this project-focused, inquiry-based learning program that develops reading, research and analysis skills that meet the Common Core State Language Arts Standards for Literacy in History/Social Studies.
Includes an overview of the program, analysis of the specific common core skills that History Day projects develop, an overview of the process of putting together successful History Day project, presentation of actual History Day projects by teachers and students, and a review of local/regional research sources for topics related to the theme “Taking a Stand in History."
Participants will also receive a CD containing extensive relevant materials and 3 free clock hours.
