Before we set sail for summer, the WSCSS has two opportunities for you to share your best work.
1. Present at our Fall Conference.
Do you have a lesson you've taught this year that you would like to share with others? A cool idea for a project you want to gather like-minded teachers to discuss? A resource you've found to be super helpful and would like to present to your peers? Then we have a great venue for you! Please submit a proposal to present at the Washington State Council for the Social Studies fall conference, scheduled for Oct. 7. Apply now, while all those great lessons/projects/resources are fresh in your mind!
Deadline: August 15.
2. Submit a lesson to our website.
Is there a lesson, project or assignment that you are proud of from this past year? Is there a ‘go-to’ lesson that has become a reliable part of your course for many years? If so, your fellow social studies colleagues across the state would love to see that lesson!
No doubt we have all benefitted from lessons and ideas being shared with us, whether we use them as is or modify to make them our own. We can extend this community of shared ideas across the state by submitting lessons, projects, and assignments to the Washington State Council for Social Studies website! Just email a copy or description of your lesson/project/assignment to wscsslessons@gmail.com. Do NOT worry about providing details or explanations, but do include your email address, so those who may want to follow up with you about it can do so.
Your colleagues across the state thank you in advance for taking a moment to share the amazing things happening in your classroom!
