The Washington State Council for the Social Studies is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year Award are now open. The WSCSS gives out this award in order to recognize teachers who have made substantial contributions to the field of social studies and had an impact on the lives of their communities and students.
If you want to include a letter or a recommendation along with your nomination, send it in an email to liebrechtb@wvsd208.org. The WSCSS will evaluate all of the nominees and present the Teacher of the Year Award at our Spring Conference in March.
Although this award is designed to be awarded to a K-12 teacher, curriculum coaches, paraprofessionals, and administrators are also eligible.
Anyone can submit a nomination form and a principal can submit more than one nomination.
