2016 Medal of Honor Legacy Graduate Teacher Seminars
Free Summer Professional Development with Graduate Credit
June 19 – 24; June 26—July 1; July 17—22; July 24—29
Program features:
- Living Medal of Honor Recipients and daily veterans panels
- Receive a copy of the Recipient’s memoir and have it signed in person.
- Three different programs: Medal of Honor Legacy (World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan), Medal of Honor Legacy: Vietnam, and Medal of Honor Legacy: War on Terror (Iraq and Afghanistan).
- Five days of scholarly lectures.
- Training and materials for the MOH Character Development Program.
- Visits to Philadelphia historic sites including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and National Constitution Center.
- Visit the Freedoms Foundation Medal of Honor Grove and Archives.
- Graduate credit from Immaculata University.
Past faculty include: historian David Eisenhower, author Gary Williams (Seal of Honor and Guardian of Guadalcanal), Colonel Greggory Daddis (West Point), Professor Rogers Smith (UPENN), Professor Eric Davis (Rutgers), Dr. Nicholas Schlosser (Marine University), Major Kim Youngjun (National Defense University, Republic of Korea), and Colonel Dick Anderegg (USAF)).
Scholarships for programs are valued at $1,400 per teacher, which includes accommodations, admissions, tour transportation, instruction, and one graduate credit hour. Additional credits are $150 each. Most meals are included except for dinner on your own in Philadelphia. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the program as well as transfer from the airport to the Freedoms Foundation campus upon arrival. Travel stipends may be available (while funds last) for those traveling more than 100 miles.
