NCSS is accepting nominations and applications for the following 2016 awards and grants. Click on the links in blue below for more information.

1.   Outstanding Social Studies Teacher of the Year

  • 3 awards- elementary, middle level and secondary

  • $2,500 cash prize

  • Up to $500 in 2016 NCSS Annual Conference travel expenses

  • 2016 Teacher of the Year Annual Conference Panel presentation

  • Complimentary 1 year NCSS membership

2. Grant for the Enhancement of Geographic Literacy

  • $2,500 Grant

  • 2017 NCSS Annual Conference project grant outcomes presentation session or webinar/webcast

  • Up to $800 in 2017 Annual Conference travel expenses

3. Award for Global Understanding Given in Honor of James M. Becker

  • Up to $700 in 2016 NCSS Annual Conference travel expenses

  • 2016 NCSS Annual Conference presentation session or webinar/webcast

  • NCSS Conference Registration

4. FASSE Christa McAuliffe Reach for the Stars Award

  • $2,500 Grant

  • 2017 NCSS Annual Conference project grant outcomes presentation session or webinar/webcast
