Freedoms Foundation: 2017 Summer Professional Development

Join the network of more than 12,000 teachers who have participated in Freedoms Foundation’s summer graduate programs.

For more than 50 years, Freedoms Foundation has presented critically acclaimed, accredited graduate courses for teachers. Summer 2017 programs present a variety of experiences that focus on character-building and developing responsible citizens through the study of history and the social sciences. Each program provides educators with an interactive, collaborative and enriching learning experience to assist them in providing better instruction to their own students.

This year they have funding for 350 full scholarships. The only cost to teachers is that of transportation to our 75 acre campus that is contiguous to Valley Forge National Park, and on which we have classroom facilities, dormitories, dining facilities and a 52 acre grove dedicated to Medal of Honor Recipients. They also pay for one graduate credit and if teachers wish to do additional work they can increase the graduate credits up to three credits for just an additional $300. Teachers can take the programs just for the hours as well if they do not want to pursue graduate credits.

There are a limited number of travel stipends available for teachers from the Pacific Northwest that would allow a teacher to at least partly defer the cost of their airfare if they were to apply and be accepted to one of our programs.
